Picking out key themes in print and pattern whilst wondering round the Bullring this week. Animated and playful conversational prints with quirky characters. Decorative and intricate floral arrangements for blouses and shirts. Ditsy florals in darker colour ways as well as graphic, silhouetted and artistic effects. Small scale paisley. Textured and atmospheric plaid, combinations with floral. Relationship between shapes and playful patterning, constellations. Painted and stylised leopard print, surface or weave of fabric adding to qualities of print.

I have been keeping an keen eye on all the collections at Fashion Week for Spring Summer 2015 these are my favorite collections, the ones that have really stuck in my mind. In love with the all whimsy and pure fun on the catwalk as well as the bold print statements and beautiful material and tactile detailing. Isle of Coll 2014

The Isle of Coll, in the Inner Hebrides, Scoland is somewhere I look back to for inspiration again and again and I have recently returned from a holiday there and it was as spectacular as ever.

After a short break I am ready to start designing again. Been teaching myself Adobe Illustrator by watching endless YouTube tutorials, starting to get somewhere with it now. Just got myself a job at Diane Von Furstenberg in Bicester Village, using this time now to get some money in whilst looking for textile design jobs and building my portfolio.
